Privacy policy

The short version
Talk with Leo has no ads, no tracking, no analytics and no accounts. Everything your child does in the app stays on this device. We do not collect, sell or share any personal information.
Microphone
The microphone is used so your child can practice talking, hear their own voice and so Leo can check a word. Recordings you make in the app stay on this device. Word checking uses Apple's speech recognition, which runs on the iPhone itself when the phone supports it; on some older phones Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple's privacy policy. Nothing is sent to us.
Camera and photos
"Show my face" uses the front camera so your child can watch their mouth. The picture is shown live and is not recorded or sent anywhere. Face masks find the face on the device. Photos you add in "My world" are stored only on this device.
Progress, names and reports
Children's first names, ages, stars and practice history are saved on this device. The therapist report is created on the device and only leaves it if you choose to share it. If you turn on iCloud sync, this data is stored in your own private iCloud account so your other Apple devices can use it. We cannot see it.
Reminders
Practice reminders are scheduled on the device. They are not push messages from a server.
Parents only
Settings, purchases, reports and any link that leaves the app are behind a parent check. The app does not show outside websites to children.
Deleting data
You can remove a child in Parents › Children, or delete the app to erase everything on the device. If you used iCloud sync, turn it off first to also clear the iCloud copy.
Children's privacy
The app is designed for children and their parents and follows the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's rules for the Kids category: no third-party advertising or analytics, and no collection of personal information from children.
